Panta Tea - Jiaogulan story: Growing wild in the climately harsh mountains of China's Sichuan province, Jiaogulan (Gynostemma Pentaphyllum), the main ingredient in Original Panta Tea, was traditionally used as a tonic for the original Qi. It was also known to calm the spirit (Shen) and relieve asthma. Recently however, research conducted by the Health Department of the People's Republic of China has shown that Jiaogulan effectively lowers cholesterol as well.
